천사도 악마도 아닌 사람

독이 될수도 있지만 약이 될수도 있다.

많은 것과 같이 좋은 것인지 나쁜 것인지를 결정하는 것은 나의 선택이다.

내 몫은 내가 결정하는 것이다.

무엇이 나에게 주어든지 간에 그것을 내가 어떻게 사용하는지는 내 몫이다.

내 운명은 내가 결정한다는 말이다.

내가 내 운명을 결정하고 내 정체성을 완성하는 것도 내 몫이다.

사람이란 너무 가까이 하기에도 너무 멀리 하기에도

어렵고 복잡한 상대이다.

그것은 내 이웃에게도 해당되지만 나 자신에게도 해당된다.

내가 나에게 독이 될수도 약이 될수도 있고

내가 남에게 독이 될수도 약이 될수도 있으며

그 반대 경우도 충분히 가능하다.

사람을 사랑하는 것은 모든 것의 끝이다.

누군가를 사랑하는 것은 내 삶의 모든 영역의 목적이다.

아픔, 상처, 고통은 사랑의 한 부분이다.

So much tension, conflict, struggle.

사랑이란 그런 것인 거 같다; 사랑이란 걸레 같은 것.

더럽고 치사하지만 꼭 필요한 것.

인생을 살다보면 하기 싫은 일을 하게 될 때도 있고

나 자신에게 부끄러워 해야 하는 일을 하게 될 때도 있다.

그럴 때 내 자신과 다른 사람을 정죄하지 말자.

그 사람도 그러고 싶어서 그랬을까 라고 말하자.

그 사람은 그 상황에서 어쩔 수 없었던 것이다.

하고 싶어서 그런게 아니란 말이다.

어쩔 수 없었고 선택의 여지가 없었던 것이다.

이해하고 받아주는 것이 사랑이다.

물론 때론 과연 인간이 어떻게 저럴수 있을까 라는 생각이 들 때가 있다.

그럴 때는 시간과 공간이 필요할 뿐이다.

사랑에서 포기란 없다.

보고 싶지 않을 수는 있겠지만 사랑하지 않을 수는 없다.
